Mumbai: High time WR set up mega terminus beyond Virar, say commuter body members
Increased train connectivity to the city is planned, but experts warn of potential congestion and delays unless new termini and rail hubs are built outside the city limits. Central Railway (CR) is developing a large terminus at Panvel, while Western Railway (WR) plans termini at Jogeshwari and Vasai.

No need to construct terminus at Dahanu. Instead of that Mega terminus should be constructed at Vasai road by taking over the salt pan land from Central Govt. This will lead to guaranteed benefit to WR by allowing 1 Cr population of Mumbai Western line to access trains to north, Central India and East India via Dahanu Nashik proposed link
they have planned two terminals at JOS and BSR which will be platform return ones like DDR. But a full fledged terminus is required in WR as not many slots will be left in BDTS MMCT. If possible near BSR or anywhere in VR DRD section.

if bsl wr 3rd 4th line not possible then railway ministry can approve bsl ak 3rd line atleast if this line is approved then some load from bsl to ak jn can be reduced

this terminal will not have any maintenance facility. train can come and reverse from this station. not much space available at vasai road.
