Not required. Metro trains are not cost effective to run for such a long distance

Waste of time, effort and resources. What could be the metro fare for 70 kms journey? Is it economical for daily travellers? Just making a statement to confuse public.

SWR is not able to show any progress in Karnataka specifically in and around Bangalore. Always they come out with excuses. Now they will tell that metro is coming to Tumkur and so we will not run local trains between Bangalore and Tumkur.
...

If really interested in developing Tumkur, SWR should put all their energy in completing Tumkur Davanagere line and Tumkur Rayadurga line. Also link YNK DMM line with SBC TK line.
