Kutch may get 20 more trains. Few developments in the ADI Division Kutch region -
PNU SIOB, GIMB SIOB and VG SIOB doubling work is done. SIOB GIMB 53 km quadrupling is approved. GIMB AI quadrupling was also approved. A few trains extension is possible from Adi and new trains from GIMB BHUJ might start. 3 Platforms at GIMB presently, will be increased to 5 and new lines (probably pits or stabling) will be constructed. 1 more platform will be constructed at BHUJ too.

Yard remodelling is under progress at GIMB station at the cost of ₹ 85 crores. Presently 100 freight trains pass daily, which will increase to double the capacity i.e. 200 freights daily. Freights will reach Tuna Container terminal, Hajipir, Vayor, Jakhau port, Naliya, Koteshwar, and Narayan Sarovar as goods shed will be constructed there. A private Freight Terminal will be developed at Abdasa which will benefit the cement industry there.
Presently cargo is handled from Tuna, Gandhidham, Bhuj, Deshalpar, IFFCO Kandla, Kukma, IOC terminal, Kandla and Mundra ports. Deshalpar siding handles 15 freights a month, capacity will increase in future. The load will reduce on tracks as rn more than the capacity trains are running in Kutch as freights and passenger trains will have different tracks and double of current freights are expected to run in future.
