railfan.z^~ 13777 blog postsWhen it comes to running premium trains for Rajasthan, I'm not sure why Bikaner is missed out almost always. And when it does get something, it really doesn't make a lot of sense (cue: Extension of SDAH Duronto)
A BKN - DEE - BKN Vande Bharat at 6:00 / 11:50 and 17:00 / 22:50 would definitely have been a bigger success than this experiment.

do you even know the route which avadh asam takes to bikaner ?
It is not meant for Delhi Bikaner Commute.. it is rather an option for intermediate stations from both the cities.
same case with the intercity which runs via Sriganganagar...

I very well know the routes these trains take & their timings too.. Infact have travelled in two - three of them too & I know Bikaner people don't take Awadh Assam for commuting in this sector, but thats an option too. & also Bikaner is not among the best tourism places of Rajasthan... Even my roommate is a Bikaneri & he finds it hard to suggest me a very good place to see in Bikaner unlike a Jodhpuri or a person from Udaipur, who will tell you about their city in seconds after asking the question.

bikaner has more potential than Jaisalmer ! , it is a much bigger town.. it has lots of tourist resorts , luxury palaces .. the thing which is coming as hindrance is the connectivity..

Sorry, to disagree, but as far as tourism is concerned, Jaisalmer offers much much more than Bikaner. City tour, Border tour, Kuldhara, Sam, Khuri, etc. these things have made tourism a very organised sector in this border district.
No doubt, Bikaner has its share on Rajasthan tourism map too, but overall Jaisalmer will be ahead (No offence intended)

Bikaner has more beautiful palaces than Jaisalmer and evident desert area is also present.. its just that it was not given much boost...
then economically and demographically Bikaner is more superior than it ..
it is also a health center in the region.. people from Punjab also visit the city the for medical tours ..
