16-kilometer long separator allows for freight trains to cross at speeds up to 116 kilometers per hour, impacting 135 passenger trains and benefiting approximately 5 lakh passengers traveling between Bhopal and Jabalpur. The Railway Safety Commissioner has inspected the separator and conducted safety tests, ensuring the safe operation of trains at high speeds. This project is expected to reduce travel time between Bhopal and Itarsi by half an hour, resulting in an overall reduction of travel time to Mumbai by about an hour and fifteen minutes.
