The Left is using a rose symbol, Trinamool Congress a train engine, Congress a book, and the Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh a fist holding a paddy stalk. The last election was in 2013, with the Left-affiliated Metro Railway Men's Union winning. A Metro Railway employee expressed concern about the absence of Bengali, citing central government regulations requiring ballots in three languages (Hindi, English, and a regional language).
